Zyani are desert dwelling predators which have adapted as to display traits found in other animals, mostly predators themselves. One of the first species to be discovered in the realm, these creatures have been determined to be amazingly unique in the way they act and react to given situations. This species is sentient.
Traits
This species displays traits which normally belong to other species. These include wolf, hawk, ram, and fox as the norm, though others appear occasionally. There were five recognizable body builds when zyani were first catalogued, though through evolution, this has apparently changed. Some still appear stockier than others, though it no longer affects performance as a predator.
Growth & Maturity
Due to their mildly dragon-like nature, zyanix females lay eggs instead of giving birth to live young. Normally it is but a single egg, though on rare occasion there is more than one. Zyani grow more slowly than some of the other native races, so their span of life is spread out over a long period of time.
Herds & Mates
The nature of the zyanix as a predator is to hunt in small groups. For lack of any better word to describe it, they are simply known as herds. These herds are not only for hunting purposes, but are used to proliferate the species as well. Zyani are rarely picky about mating, and can even shift between herds or single mates if they desire. Occasionally they mate for life.
