Che'Rani are a meld of dragon, wolf, feline, and jackal, thrown together, melded, and enhanced by a magical flux located on this plane some time ago. Some believe it to have occured in conjunction with the sealing of the Faerie Mists in Tarakyna, as some sort of side affect, though whether the two realms were even connected at the time is under investigation. This species is also sentient.
Traits
This kind lives among rocks and stones, but hardly ever mountains because of limited running space and flight barriers, as some members of the type have wings. They are full carnivores and advanced predators. Vision, as well as the other senses, are heightened well past that of any of the creatures which make up the basic genetic pattern. Coloration also fluxuated, causing all normal horns to turn blue, and any feline markings to become shades of violet.
Growth & Maturity
Following the canine form, which dominates over half of the genetic codes, the che'rani form packs which range from one to two males and three to seven females at one time. This pack in these lands in an exception. Males never outnumber females because there are most always fewer males. Many males are loners, and are better at hunting alone. Females tend to hunt better in larger groups.
Mating & Packs
Each pack is given a name upon creation, normally thought up by the lead male or lead female. Members within the pack can mate together, provided they are both completely unrelated. Half or full siblings do not mate. Pairing off is extremely rare in all cases.
Litters can range from as few as three kits to as many as nine. One kit is reserved for one of the parents of the mating. Females will always name their kits before they grow up enough to be fostered out. In keeping with a certain naming tradition, all kits fostered to outlanders are named by the females of this pack.
