Appearance, Glossary & Names

Appearance
An adult devi has the wing-length of one human arm. A hatchling devi would fit into a large man's palm. When fully grown, all devi develop a short mane of fur that looks much like a crest. This signals that the devi is fully adult and therefore ready to mate, as well as aiding devi flying abilities. Devi wings are thick and leathery. Each devi has two fingers and a thumb on each forearm, and two talons and a thumb on each back limb.

Glossary
Terisi - A terisi is a devi community. A properly sized terisi is composed of several bands all working together to protect an area of land. Large terisi may have many miles of land as their territory.
Egg-Giver - The egg-giver may be the aether of the realm, or it may be a devi the aether of the realm has assigned the duty. The egg-giver job is to choose which packs get the eggs from a clutch. An egg-giver who makes poor positions may be cast out of the terisi for his or her ignorance.
Aether Of The Realm - Each terisi has a high lord who rules over all of the terisi bands. The aether of the realm is normally an aether devi, and makes all important decisions of the terisi, including fixing disputes between packs. The aether often has a small, court band to himself or herself.
Goddess - The Moon Goddess. For more information read the history page.

Naming
A devi name bears significance to his or her rank. A devi with minor lord status or greater in his terisi has an apostrophe added to the name to denote rank. The aether of the realm always has a last name, which is passed form aether to aether. Devi do generally not have earth human names, but a great many of the spiritual ones rename themselves to accociate themselves with the moon.
